Tips for a signature that looks right
- Use a phone or tablet. A finger on glass gives a smoother line than a mouse.
- Sign larger than usual. The PNG scales down well and keeps the detail.
- Sign the way you sign on paper. A signature that matches your ID is easier to recognize.
- Pick blue ink for originals. Many offices read blue as the signed copy and black as the photocopy.
Where to use your online signature
The PNG works anywhere an image goes. People use it on PDFs, Word files, Google Docs, email footers and invoices.

Is an online signature legally valid?
Yes, when you place it on a document with the intent to sign. The ESIGN Act says a signature cannot lose effect only because it is electronic.
The image alone proves less than a signed record. That is why the PDF signer adds the certificate page with the fingerprint of the file.
When someone else has to sign
