How to sign a PDF in four steps
- 1Drop your PDF in the box, or choose it from your computer or phone.
- 2Draw your signature. Tap «Draw my signature» and sign with your finger, mouse or pen.
- 3Place it. Tap the spot on the page. Drag it to move it and pull the corner to resize it.
- 4Download it. On a phone, use the brown bar at the bottom that says «Download signed PDF».
Add text, a date or your initials with the buttons above the page. Each one lands where you tap. The file keeps its name with «-signed» at the end.
A photo works too. Drop a JPG or PNG of the page and the tool turns it into a one-page PDF.
Add a free signature certificate
The box «Add signature certificate» comes checked. It adds a last page with the signer name, the date and a fingerprint of the original file.
The fingerprint is a SHA-256 code of 64 characters. The same file always gives the same code. Change one comma and the code changes.
Anyone can check later that the original did not change. They drop both files into the free signature checker.
Your PDF stays on your device
The tool opens and signs the file inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so contracts with prices or ID numbers stay with you.
Your drawn signature is saved on this device for next time. Delete it whenever you want with «Forget my data on this device».

Is a signed PDF legally valid?
Yes, in most cases. In the US the ESIGN Act and state UETA laws give electronic signatures the same effect as ink.
The Philippines, India and the UK have their own electronic signature laws. Contracts, forms and receipts signed this way hold up in all of them.
Some documents still need ink or a notary. Wills, many powers of attorney and real estate deeds are the usual examples. Our guide to wet signatures lists them.
When someone else has to sign
Send the PDF from a free SignSolú account. The other person gets a link by WhatsApp or email.
They open it on their phone and tap the brown bar that says «Sign as …». You get the PDF back with a certificate that SignSolú timestamps. Your first ten documents are free.
