How it gets signed
1Choose «Use this template», fill in the fields and review the full prenuptial agreement.
2Send it by WhatsApp or email. The other party opens the link on their phone without an account.
3They tap the brown bar at the bottom that says «Sign as …» and draw their signature once.
4Everyone gets the signed PDF with its signature certificate. Anyone can check it at signsolu.com/verificar.
Family law agreements follow state signing rules. Many lawyers ask both partners to sign before a notary. Review and agree on the text online, then download the PDF if your state or lawyers want notarized signatures.
What you get once everyone signs
The signed PDF. The final prenuptial agreement with every drawn signature in place.
The signature certificate. It lists each signer and the date and time of each signature.
A record you can check. The folio on the certificate opens the document history at signsolu.com/verificar.
Reminders. Turn them on and SignSolú reminds every signer who has not signed yet.
Your first ten documents are free and need no card.
What the law says
Prenuptial agreements are governed by state law. Many states adopted the Uniform Premarital Agreement Act or its newer version, which require the agreement to be in writing and signed by both parties.
Courts can refuse to enforce a prenup signed under pressure, without fair disclosure of assets, or that leaves one spouse in extreme hardship. Signing well before the wedding and with separate lawyers helps.
A prenup cannot set child custody or reduce child support. The court decides those in the child's best interest.
The ESIGN Act exceptions, 15 U.S.C. 7003, leave out records governed by state law on adoption, divorce and other matters of family law. For this document, state law decides how it must be signed.
Who should consider a prenup
Business owners who want to protect a company or a partner's share.
People with children from a previous marriage who want to protect their inheritance.
Partners with very different assets or debts.
People expecting an inheritance or holding family property.
Anyone who wants clear rules instead of the state default.
How to make a prenup that holds up
Disclose everything. Attach a full list of assets, debts and income. Hidden assets are the main reason courts set prenups aside.
Give time. Share the draft weeks or months before the wedding. A prenup handed over the night before looks like pressure.
Use separate lawyers. Each partner should get independent advice, even if it costs more.
Be fair. Terms that leave one spouse with nothing invite a challenge.
Preparing the agreement together online
Couples often go back and forth on the text. Fill in the template, share it, and adjust clauses until both agree.
SignSolú keeps the agreed version with the date each partner signed it. That record helps show both had the final text in time.
If your state or lawyers want notarized signatures, download the final PDF and sign it before a notary as well.
Common mistakes
Signing too close to the wedding. Leave at least a few weeks between the final draft and the signature.
Trying to decide custody. Courts will ignore it.
Never updating it. If the marriage changes a lot, a postnuptial agreement can update the terms.
Talking about a prenup without a fight
Bring it up early, months before the wedding, and frame it as planning together. Most couples find the money conversation useful in itself.
Fill in the schedules first. Seeing both lists side by side makes the rest of the clauses easier to agree on.
Keep the signed prenup with your important papers and tell your lawyers where it is. A prenup nobody can find helps no one.
Before you sign
Read every clause of the prenuptial agreement with the other party before anyone signs. Change what does not fit your deal.
