Send a PDF for others to sign

What a signed PDF from SignSolú contains

Anyone who receives the PDF can check it at signsolu.com/verificar. If one byte changed, the hash will not match.

PDF and Word files

SignSolú accepts PDF and Word files. A Word file becomes a PDF before it goes out, so every signer sees the same pages.

Scanned PDFs work too. Mark the signing spots on the image of the page and send it like any other file.

Is a signed PDF legally binding?

Yes, for most documents. The ESIGN Act says a signature cannot be denied effect only because it is electronic. Most US states also follow the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act.

The strength of a signed PDF is its evidence. A picture of a signature pasted into a PDF proves little. A certificate with times, IP addresses and a hash proves much more.

On phone, tablet and computer

The app runs in the browser on iPhone, Android, iPad, Windows and Mac. Nobody installs anything. On a computer the signer draws with the mouse or trackpad.

Common PDF signing jobs

Initials, dates and text fields

Before sending, mark each place where a signer signs, writes initials, enters a date or types a name. Each signer only sees and fills their own fields.

The date fills itself on the day of signing. Names and text fields are typed by the signer, so the final PDF reads cleanly.

Signing a PDF on a computer

On Windows or Mac the steps are the same. Open the link in any browser, draw with the mouse or the trackpad and press «Sign and Send». Nothing to install and no plugin.

Signing a PDF someone emailed you

Save the attachment to your phone or computer. Open the free sign PDF tool, choose the file, draw your signature and place it. Download the result and reply with the signed PDF attached.

Pasted image or signed PDF

Many people paste a photo of their signature into a PDF. It looks signed, but anyone can copy that image into another file.

A PDF signed in SignSolú ties each signature to a person, a phone or email, a time and an IP address. The hash shows the file did not change after signing. That is the difference a court or a bank will look at.

What the audit certificate shows

Every document signed in SignSolú ends with a certificate page. It turns a drawn signature into evidence you can show a bank, a court or the other party.

• The name of the sender and of each signer.
• The phone number or email where each link went.
• The date and time of each step, from sending to the last signature.
• The IP address each signer used.
• The SHA-256 hash of the signed file.

The hash works like a fingerprint. Change one comma in the PDF and the fingerprint no longer matches the one on the certificate.

What the signer sees on a phone

The signer opens the link and sees the document at full width. They scroll and read it like any page on the web.

A brown bar stays at the bottom of the screen with the words «Sign as» and their name. One tap opens a box to draw the signature.

They draw once with a finger and press «Sign and Send». SignSolú places that signature in every spot the document needs. Then it shows a confirmation and sends the signed copy when everyone is done.
