Digital signature for any document, signed from a phone
Based on the ESIGN Act (15 U.S.C. 7001) · Reviewed in October 2026
A digital signature is a way to sign a document electronically and prove who signed it. SignSolú sends your document by WhatsApp or email, the signer draws a signature on their phone, and the signed PDF comes back with a certificate that shows who signed, when and from which IP address.
Draw your signature
Your file never leaves your device.

How signing works with SignSolú
- 1Upload or pick a template. Bring your own PDF or Word file, or start from a ready contract.
- 2Add the signers. Type each name with a phone number or an email. The link goes by WhatsApp or email.
- 3They sign from their phone. They tap the brown bar at the bottom that says «Sign as …» and draw their signature once.
- 4You get the signed PDF. It ends with an audit certificate and a fingerprint of the file.
Signers do not create an account or download an app. The link opens in the browser they already use. Most people finish in under two minutes.
What you get with SignSolú
Templates ready to sign
Leases, NDAs, bills of sale, employment contracts and powers of attorney come with the clauses written. You fill in the names and send.
Your own templates with fields
Turn any contract you already use into a template. Mark the fields once and reuse it as many times as you need. Templates are unlimited.
A drawn signature
Each signer draws the signature with a finger or a mouse. It looks like their signature on paper, and SignSolú places it everywhere the document asks for it.
An audit certificate on every PDF
The last page lists each signer, the time of each step, and the IP address. It also prints the SHA-256 hash of the signed file.
Public verification
Anyone can upload a signed PDF at signsolu.com/verificar. SignSolú compares its hash with the original and says whether the file changed.
Reminders and contract dates
SignSolú reminds signers who have not signed yet. You can also save the start and end date of each contract and get a notice before it expires.
Documents from the signer
Ask each signer for extra files while they sign, such as an ID or a proof of address. They arrive with the signed contract.
Digital signature and electronic signature
Most people use both terms for the same thing. In a technical sense they mean different tools.
An electronic signature is any electronic sign that a person agrees to a document. A signature drawn on a phone is one. So is a click on a button that says «I agree».
A digital signature in the strict sense uses a certificate issued by a certification authority. The certificate seals the file with a private key. Government filings in many countries use this kind, such as the digital signature certificate in India.
SignSolú uses electronic signatures backed by an audit certificate and a file hash. It does not issue certificates from a certification authority.
For contracts between companies and people, the electronic signature is the form most laws recognize. The laws below give it the same effect as ink for most documents.
Is an electronic signature legal?
Yes, in most countries and for most documents. In the United States the ESIGN Act says a contract cannot be denied effect only because it is electronic. Most states also adopted the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act.
| Country | Law that recognizes e-signatures | Documents that need another form |
|---|---|---|
| United States | ESIGN Act, 15 U.S.C. 7001 | Wills, family law matters, court filings and some consumer notices |
| United Kingdom | Electronic Communications Act 2000, s. 7 | Formal deeds, which need witnessing and delivery |
| European Union | eIDAS Regulation, art. 25 | Each member state sets which contracts need a special form |
| Canada (British Columbia) | Electronic Transactions Act, s. 11 | Wills, powers of attorney and land documents that need registration |
| India | Information Technology Act 2000, s. 10A | Powers of attorney, trusts, wills and sales of immovable property |
| Mexico | Commercial Code, arts. 89 to 114 | Wills, notarial powers and sales of real estate |
Every country keeps a short list of documents that need ink, witnesses or a notary. Wills are on that list almost everywhere. See the validity guide by country.
Signing in English and Spanish
SignSolú works in English and Spanish. A landlord in Texas can send a lease in English to one tenant and in Spanish to another, from the same account.
You choose the language for each signer, and the signing screen and the messages follow it. That avoids the most common reason people stop before signing, which is not understanding the next step.
Digital signature examples
- A tenant signs a one-year lease from a phone the night before moving in.
- A freelancer signs a contractor agreement and attaches a tax form.
- A buyer signs a bill of sale for a used car in the seller driveway.
- A parent signs a school trip consent while waiting in line.
What the audit certificate shows
Every document signed in SignSolú ends with a certificate page. It turns a drawn signature into evidence you can show a bank, a court or the other party.
- The name of the sender and of each signer.
- The phone number or email where each link went.
- The date and time of each step, from sending to the last signature.
- The IP address each signer used.
- The SHA-256 hash of the signed file.
The hash works like a fingerprint. Change one comma in the PDF and the fingerprint no longer matches the one on the certificate.
What the signer sees on a phone
The signer opens the link and sees the document at full width. They scroll and read it like any page on the web.
A brown bar stays at the bottom of the screen with the words «Sign as» and their name. One tap opens a box to draw the signature.
They draw once with a finger and press «Sign and Send». SignSolú places that signature in every spot the document needs. Then it shows a confirmation and sends the signed copy when everyone is done.
